Being disabled ... develops unexpected abilities in people

“This is an uncommon and appealing point of view: “I want to feel strong and confident, but for some reason, I can’t feel fully independent unless I am a paraplegic. When I walk, it feels like I'm… Well, like I’m lacking potential. I feel like when I walk, I can only do so much in my life before I hit the ceiling. But when I live as a paraplegic, I feel like there’s so much left to do. And I feel PASSIONATE about everything."
This is a philosophy that appeals to carpe diem, that aims at realizing, in depth, the fortune of being able-bodied... or disabled, with a view to going beyond oneself, to go beyond what appears as hardship to the able-bodied.
Able-bodied people are easily overwhelmed by trivial things and do much about nothing, loosing the sense of beauty, blinded by superficial occupations.
Paradoxically, being disabled could optimize one's perception of life, even the essence of life, and could develop unexpected abilities in people.
An excellent topic and an approach rarely seen, an original point of view. Very much in keeping with our times...”
Annie Novel, Radio presenter and Writer
